Slovakias tackling was filthy leaving the foot in every tackle. Referee was shocking no wonder he got thumped in Turkey.

You mean the same Mary who put all of Freddie's belongings up for auction earlier this year to make a quick killing? Sounds like a typical Tory to me....sell the 'crown jewels' to profit yourself and f**k the regular fans who couldn't possibly afford to bid for anything and will never see any of his treasured posessions again!

Yes the very same, but I wonder if she knew the views of someone working at her home.

I concur.....I'm also a grown man who worships Freddie 'bleeding' Mercury. The greatest singer, frontman and writer ever to grace this earth! As for singing/writing a 'couple of good songs' - CPS should give his head a wobble

No if that poster thinks that, then musically that?s his choice and I respect , that. What I found alarming when searching Southgate threads is the worrying thing that he?s been stalking me on here for six years, and used very questionable language when he often voices concern about others who do the same.
Anyway enough about that..back on thread..
Will Southgate make big changes in the starting line up next Saturday?

That would be bold. I don?t think I can watch another match of Foden drifting into the congested middle of the pitch whilst we offer zero threat from the left. Gordon needs to start, Foden needs putting on the bench to be brought on for Jude when he tires.

The alarming thing for me was his seeming lack of will, strength, nous etc to change it much earlier.
He really did seem trapped in the headlights.

Agree - I've no idea how such an incompetent buffoon was put in charge of a game at that level. He started the game brandishing yellow cards when players breathed heavily on each other, then later in the game allowing tackles that virtually chopped people in half, to go unpunished. I got the impression that some ref supervisor told him at half time that he'd end up with a 7-a-side game if he carried on the same way. As a result, nobody was given a second yellow, which was unbelievable considering the tackles Slovakia were dishing out.

I totally agree. Some of those second half tackles wouldn't get past a Sunday League referee without a card. Very poor and he should be reprimanded.

Wasn't he the ref that got attacked by the club owner in Turkey after sending off 2 or 3 players in injury time and costing them the game??

He appeared to have a change of tact when Dudha manhandled Bellingham (more physically than the Guehi yellow) and didn't take the appropriate action, then 5? minutes later Dudha committed the worst challange of the match so far on Stones and again did nowt. To have such a shift in tolerance levels during a game is a recipe for disaster.
Did the Slovakian management do research into the refs trends (Napoli connections!!)and conclude that leaving the 'foot in' was a worthwhile risk after the initial flurry of yellows? or were they just crap at timing a tackle? or was the ref very ellerayesque in not wanting to make a game changing decision as with the none sending off of Blackmore?

That was one of the worst England performances I have seen in my 42 years but that Bellingham goal was some moment. I must have watched it 20 times already this morning. There is no other sport or game that comes close to football for moments like that.

To reprise a comment I made about my beloved Spireites:

"England were great last night because they weren't great. And bicycle overhead 96th minute winners when you're not great make you, well ..... great"

I live for moments like that. And I absolutely love it

COME ON ENGLAND ⚽⚽⚽

Bellingham being investigated by UEFA for cupping his knackers after scoring last night. Some Journo?s suggesting he could be banned for the 1/4 final. Excellent.

Has 'Own Goals' reached double figures yet? Jan Vertonghen the latest culprit., the highest genuine goals scored is 3 so far by 3 players.

Congratulations to France you did your best to match England's dire performance last nite, helped along the way by an equally dire Belgium team, . You didn't quite reach the lows of last nite, but it was a valiant effort.

I was a bit oblivious to what was happening as I was in Hyde park watching kings of Leon with no signal to see what the score or anything. There were a couple of cheers as word got round about our goals. First thing I saw was Bellingham?s goal on Twitter closely followed by cctv footage of celebrations in the barrel as folk piled over the pool table which was going viral on social media!
