I'm sure that we'll have cover for Grimes before the transfer window slams shut, as I think, it's the only position we haven't got a stand in for. It may be that we'll bring in a youngster on loan or similar who's been released by a championship or premier League club. We're going to need one or two under 21 year olds to make the squad fill out a bit and hopefully sell on at a profit.
Have we got any of our own at the club who could step up ?

My official man in the know, has gone very dumb all of a sudden on all things transfer orientated. This isn't a bad thing, because he's been wrong on all points. I asked him about us signing Freckleton, but he's either turned himself into a fly, so he can get more information or he's embarrassed by the things he's told me as being the gospel truth, which turned out to be less than accurate. He should be a football correspondent for The Sun, they'd love him.
Anyway, I think we've missed the boat on the Freckleton front, but I believe Paul Cook will have others to look at from now until the transfer window shuts.

Miguel rumoured to go back to Bristol Rovers.Perhaps linked, in some way, to Lewis having joined us?

Freckleton started at Bristol Rovers before moving to Sheff Utd.

Mentioned already on the rumours thread. Seems to have stemmed from some random Bradford fan moaning that they've not got him as he's signed for us. Think its spread round town fans on Twitter from there but no mention of him signing for us from anywhere else at all.

The original tweet is here - https://x.com/bcafc_...827169180139917 - some bloke with 93 followers who appears to not like their chief exec!!

If Wyke does sign then surely Quigley moving on. Wyke would be an interesting signing certainly need some brute force in L2.

Not calling Quigley as he certainly played his part last season, but realistically would there be many takers?

I can't imagine that he would have any issue finding clubs in the National League with an interest in him

I certainly think there's going to be some outgoings, and some may be ones we'd rather keep too. I'd be very surprised, if there aren't one or two league one clubs looking at the likes of Dobra and Mandeville, I just hope not. I haven't heard anything,by the way.

Lets be honest and its a great position to be in, but most players in the bottom 2 divisions wouldnt mind signing for us at the moment.

Yeah, you're right, and it feels nice to not be shopping at the church jumble sale any more.

Apart from Rotherham, Birmingham, Wrexham, Bolton and Stockport I?d think you?d be daft not to sign on here.

Cooper is in the Scotland squad at the Euros so not likely to have serious injury and never, ever, likely to be signing for us.

It?s called ambition. Whilst always unlikely but if you don?t ask ?.

True enough, but maybe the flipside is that those presently under contract but deemed potentially surplus to requirements may prove difficult to move on. I'm hoping we stop wasting money subsidising any player's next move...

Doing some light research, it?s estimated Cooper is on circa ?25k per week at Leeds. Even if he?s being offered reduced terms, the average championship player earns between ?7-?10k per week (with some exceptions, eg, Leicester this season) so I personally don?t think we?re even in the running.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

And we shouldn't be either.
I'm sure if we are in the market for a CB, we can pick one up cheaper who can do the standard required.
I'm assuming that Grimes and Dunkley are starters (as long as one is left and the other right) so apart from a big wage, Cooper my find himself benched.
We have Williams and Palmer atm on the books along with Naylor who can fill in.
Nutshell, I think Cooper would be a bad move. If one of Williams and Palmer leave, then replace

Comedian of the year.
You think we'd start Grimes over Cooper if he was here??
It's completely hypothetical as we'd not be able to afford him but you need to give your head a wobble
