Has any one political party explained how they intend on plugging the gap between income and expenditure without either radical reform of public services or an increase in tax revenue?

Either way, we've shot it because neither party is strong enough to do what is required.

What is required exactly?

A good starting point for any political party would be an admission that virtually every single public sector department is out dated and not fit for purpose based on our Country's current demands.

The whole structure had to change as more old people need supporting with fewer people of working age and economically active...

Start with the NHS. Who is going to address public sector pensions, that 6 million people receive and cost 30% plus of the payroll cost... let's be honest, as boomers reach pension age, with the triple lock in place, that alone is going to be crippling...

It's OK growth with solve everything... which apparently will come from private finance deals.....although one of the crippling costs for the NHS (and others) currently are PFI costs....

Good job that inflation is now down and interest rates can start falling bringing good news for many ;)

Wonder where Bob got that info about the serious plan from... maybe he could direct the rest of us as to where to look for the detail?

As an interested bystander you revert to asking Qs and not addressing any issues. Some would be so bold to say which has been Starmers playbook.

What would you most like to see solved ? And the big Q how?

Ps I appreciate the irony in this post. 😂

Great post.

Interest rates and inflation will come down. Labour will claim salvation. But without a massive economic rebound the country is FUBAR. To quote Phil Tooley you never had it so good.

My biggest regret about Brexit is not be able to leave this car crash behind easily.

Having just come back from a week's holiday, also my biggest regret about brexit!!

Wonder if my other half can get an Irish passport as her ex was Irish:)

Although where in Europe would you go for better... Germany is facing years of challenges, France is being taken by the right... Italy has always been the poor man like Greece and Portugal so their futures will be challenging....

I?d have kept that one quiet tbh!
Imagine the outcry from said poster if it had been a Tory endorsement.

France being taken by the right who will seemingly have a very very tough policy on illegal immigration and the Uk seemingly being taken over by the left who will cancel Rwanda and could well have a much more lenient policy on immigration to the current government. Just 20 miles of sea separates the two. It?ll be interesting to see how the figures go when the two new incumbents are in power.

To be fair, if they can't get into France, they can't get through to the UK...
