I was thinking the same. I've only watched the one time but I didn't see him, but I know I saw him on the Spain video.

According to an acquaintance, Freckleton has been offered an extension at Sheffield United.
Not sure about Sam Clucas, although I'm pretty sure he'll get fixed up with either a championship or league one club.

Sheff Utd are up a creek with no paddle currently financially....they have players leaving and no funds to replace them really. They may see Freckleton as a cheapish option to keep on board for squad numbers!

I know you have said before that Sam had a decent season at Rotherham, but I was looking at what Stoke fans thought of him at the end of his time. On the whole, they were scathing, poor attitude, waste of a wage, not sure how he could have ever been worth ?16M.

Wonder if our Staffordshire based posters know any more of his time that way?

Your assessment is about right..... think the fans mainly liked him on his first season and then coudn't wait to see the back of him.

Clucas was a wonderful player at his peak. Never really worked out for him after the move to Swansea. He would still be a class above at our level and probably the level above.

Yep there seems to be plenty of doom and gloom around the place currently. Likes of Mcburnie who they paid nearly ?20m for has left on a free.

He played nearly 150 times across 5 seasons at Swansea, including time as captain. Injuries killed him there towards the end and I agree he?d be a class above. I?m just not sure where he?d play unless we shifted DJ out & Jones played far less.

I?ve a feeling Jones will be used sparingly this season but might occupy a seat on the bench with a view to bringing him on as and when we need to close games out.
