My MOTM was Jacobs by a distance, maybe two poor passes all game, some excellent balls across the goalmouth, popping up everywhere like Mike Jones.Felt he had moved up a gear in preparation for EFL2?
Once again slow out of the traps for second half, thought Grigg would have had at least a hat trick today with all the missed chances.Made a big difference with Dobs not keep losing the ball, seemed to be passing more than holding and losing.
Still trying to place shots rather than putting their laces through and putting the keeper in the back of the net with the ball.Whatever peoples opinions on Tyrer, that last minute save was world class, and he is still young for a keeper.IMO of course.

Yes Boreham are down.
What a turnaround from last year when they should have beat County in the play offs semi final.

It's certainly a season of pleasure for any Spireite 😁😁😁. The cherry on the cake being Oldham not making the playoffs 🤣.

Boreham Wood were 65 seconds away from facing us in the playoff final at Wembley next season. Fast forward a year and they will be facing Tonbridge and Horsham next season in league fixtures. Football is a cruel unforgiving sport, but that’s part and parcel of being a fan.

Really? Ok if I must. There’s been an ongoing theme all season about Oldham and them being champions elect after their jammy draw here in August. How you’ve missed the constant references I’ve no idea.

Only team we didn't manage to beat. The only thing that sticks in the throat about the whole season.

Defensive frailties, late winners and nicely done celebrations (and behaviour) aside … Got to say fair play to Maidenhead for making game of it and I thought their travelling fans were class today, many stopping a while to watch the party progress.
Let’s hope they have a better season next time around :)

A mid-table finish for a small part-time club playing at the highest level in their history. Alan Devonshire has worked miracles with them.
These go to eleven.

Yes, they seemed to link up very well. Jacobs, for me, does the simple stuff so well. He sees where the ball needs to be before the opposition can anticipate. When he's on song, he's excellent.

well i won't be losing sleep but of all the teams in the division they are the one's I would take the most pleasure from beating. Not because they're good but because
of their behaviour at our place. Robbed & then forced to witness their antics.

And Port Vale relegated. With Dinosaur Darren at the wheel on a five-year contract :-)

From what I vaguely remember of him wasn't Devonshire a very good player?

At least Dorking and that weasel of a man can disappear for a few years hopefully never to get any screen time again.

Ranodm thoughts from today

We've won the league.

Hardly news but

We do better when we get the ball to our better footballers' feet in the opposition's half. We do better when our better players, with the ball in the opposition's half make accurate passes forward and in front of our other better players. Fairly often it results in a goal for us when we do this.

We do less well when we get the ball to our less capable footballers in our own half. We do less well when our less capable players loft knee, thigh or neck-high passes sidewards or backwards vaguely towards our other less capable players in our own half. Fairly often it results in a goal for them when we do this.

Not much else to say really

Still a few dubious tippy tappy moments on the edge of our area. There was one where Grimes squared it to Oldaker (or vice versa) which fortunately found him, but they shouldn't be playing hazardous passes like that on the edge of the box.

Quigley for me. Scored one made one. Would have been 2 if dobras shot had gone 2 inches left.
Dobs was brilliant too. Was surprised when he went off….

Yes, FA Cup winner with West Ham in 1980 & an England International. Top player.
