The ball brushed his hand, apparently without any intent on his part, and with no influence on its trajectory - the sort of thing that might happen 50 times in any game of football. If we're going down that road in addition to VAR the game will become unwatchable. No referee in his right mind would have disallowed the goal on the evidence of his own view and experience.

Precisely; IMO nobody who has any feel for the intensity, pace and spirit of the game could possibly tolerate this VAR idiocy.

Makes a big difference when the two teams are playing to win instead of playing NOT to lose

Didn?t realise there was any beef between them.

Superb game of football that was, great goals and loads of chances. Shame for Georgia, chasing the game, hit the post and then cleared off the line at the death before Turkey ran one in with all 11 Georgia players up field.
Beef and Turkey always a difficult choice on the Carvery menu.
God I hate this league.

Anyway seeing as we?ve 3 point?s in the bag, how do we approach the next game ?

Sit back and let the game develope hoping to get a breakaway or be expansive - bearing in mind we visibly wilted towards our last game.

I think we all know how he'll play it, go for a draw. I don't think we'll see much attacking quality unless we go behind.

VAR got this completely right! The current interpretation of handball says this is an offence in the build-up to a goal. The referee missed it so it is a clear and obvious error.

Had the referee seen it and determined it didn't constitute handball then it wouldn't have been an error.

The issue for me is stating that the laws of the game make this handball.

The ref may well have seen it though, and decided it wasn't a handball, and by any sensible criteria he'd be spot on. As you say, the laws of the game have now got to the stage of farce. When they're measuring in millimetres and millisecods, and trying to get even tighter than that with a snickometer, for heavens sake, it's time to pack up.
And surely it couldn't have been a 'clear and obvious error' when nobody watching or commentating had any idea what was going on.

Agreed, you should pack up and not go again... :)

I dont like the 70mph speed limit on motorways, but that is how it is, live with it or moan a lot.

The Turkey v Georgia game was a brilliant, entertaining and exciting spectacle, greatly helped by the fact that there was minimal VAR intervention to interfere with the flow and pace of the whole match. Just goes to show that good refereeing is far better than unnecessary and obtrusive technology.

But if the ref had seen it, he would have gone to the screen as he did, explained his reason for allowing the goal and let the goal stand, the refs decision is final, var is only there to assist.. so clearly he didn't see it, and agreed with the VAR

He wont but ok, first half v Serbia there was plenty of attacking quality and the game was pretty much in their half....

Absolute stormer of a game.. shows, given the amount of world class talent we have at our disposal, what an absolute insipid bore of a manager we have. Performances from teams way below us in the rankings showing how the game should be played!

Some of the so called lesser teams are producing some brilliant football.......Turkey v Georgia was a great game but this Croatia v Albania game has beaten everything hands down. So much better than an England borefest

The England game was comfortably the least entertaining so far.

The Portugal game was dire last night until the Czechs scored out of the blue.

I'd take a host of wins like Englands game if it means we win it. Likes of Turkey v Georgia wasnt really a comparison as they knew they had to win the game to have a chance of qualifying so went for it.
