We possibly need a thread just for Twitter snippets like this but this own goal from the St Pauli v Hamburg game will take some beating. Worst attempt ever at playing out from a goal kick!!

A shocker - a crumb of comfort is that it had an horrendous bobble just before he kicked it...but still...

While we're at it, take a look at the goals Notts County conceded last night. I've had to watch it twice as I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Far be it from me to cast doubt on their professionalism last night, but they are goals you would concede if you were deliberately wanting to lose a game. Amazing.

They were particularly bad….saw someone say it would be an insult to schoolboy defending to call it that!!

At least not many county fans saw it…less than 4000 home fans there last night!!

If he'd left the ball alone from the back-pass in the one you posted the worst outcome was a corner!

I remember Gary Pallister scoring a beauty for us at Saltergate whilst playing for Middlesborough as a young lad in the mid 80's. He turned and without looking lofted a backpass from just inside his own half over his keeper who was way out of his goal.

It's been mentioned on here a few times and anyone on here who was in the 7,000 crowd in '68 v Rochdale would argue that Keith Kettleboroughs og would take some beating. No bobbles, pressure or deflections involved. He was some 30/40 in space with time on his side, players looking for a pass in front of him, but for some inexplicable reason he turned round and arrowed the ball straight into the top right hand corner of our net leaving Johnny Roberts helpless.

If you wanted to make a video on how not to defend, you couldn't get better than that

I can’t remember the opposition, but seem to remember a night league game up at Saltergate where an opposing defender put into his net under no pressure gifting us a 2-1 win. Mid to late 90s, crowd was sparse to the least was my main memory

Not 100% about it but I think that could have been against Hereford United.

Try the You Tube highlights of Chorley v Darlington. Chorley's 7th goal is inexplicable.

I remember as though it was yesterday a great shot into the cross street end goal it looked great from the kop end not lol

From memory I think we lost 2-0 during our faltering promotion push

The 0-2 defeat against Rochdale was Neil Warnock's League debut.

I remember a bearded Jamie Bates scoring a cracking looping header OG when we played Brentford. He dove for the ball and it looped brilliantly past the keeper. Any striker would have been proud of that. That must have been in the 90s.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Ivan Hollett ran 50 yards to attempt to win ball back and ended up pulling down shorts of Rochdale player …. Reg Jenkins was the chap’s name
I was 7 and giggled

Gary Roberts pulled down Cheltenhams Russell Penns shorts in 2013.
I was 57 and I giggled.
My wife's correct in what she says, I've never grown up lol.
