I think its more to stop folk getting clobbered by a ball in the warms up while not paying attention. Dont want to post a The S*n link but there is a story on there currently about a scunny fan who is currently in a coma in hospital weeks after being hit on the head by a stray ball before their game at Gloucester which caused him to fall over and smack his head on the ground.

I wonder if anybody gave any thought to positioning them across the corners where, at CFC's SE and NW, there aren't any fans? Then just stick the temporary goal nets diagonally across the corners of the pitch.
Maybe the design doesn't allow it.

Probably more complicated in a corner as they would need to go up two sides of the pitch to protect the stands from wayward shots as having the net on the pitch would still have the ball going towards fans. As it stands they just have a straight net on just one side between the goal and the corner that will be easy to put up in a straight line and just one to take down.

And they don?t look too expensive in the scale of things. Only a couple of thousand for a removable system. I watched them take down similar when we played at Chelsea and it took 10 minutes at most.

Given all the upgrades, do you think they'll be "upgrading" the food?

Just seen this https://x.com/FootyS...482807385022468 (That's National League food...)

I know they talked about options at the last fans thing but is there any news?

Looking at their thoughts it?s going to be something like one of the stands at Fleetwood, one that doesn?t run the length of the pitch. Mind you I understand their planning, keep it in line with the two stands behind the goals, they don?t run the length of the touch line either!

I worked in Scabland for a while, and nearly everyone there were Forest fans or were mentally unable to follow a sweeping brush let alone a game of football.

😆😆😆, North Derbyshire GP's now have a morning after the night before body scrub for all Spireites who have to undergo such journeys, but don't forget to do the car in watered down Jeyes fluid and put the local body shop on speed dial 😁.

Be interesting on the cost, the original problem was the foundations on that side of the ground. Directly behind is a massive drop bordering terraced housing.

Could end up with the leaning stand of Scabfield, and if it leaned backwards, they could use it for air displays or UFO hunting, because I'm sure it won't fill during match days.

No issue nowadays, can just pile the ground, not as expensive as it used to be.

It?s not as complicated as that according to my good mate, with the houses so close to the Bishop Street shed there just isn?t the room for a complete decent sized stand along the length of the pitch.

The plastic leg spreader will be all talk of ground development but as next season evolves and they drop into relegation spots their crowds will drop to their national league levels and they won?t need to develop their 3 sided ground and probably move to a two sided ground

Ahh that's better then, was going to say seems like a daft thing to spend money on, mind you those metal posts will still be there.

Still at least the new ownership are looking after the ground now, lets hope we get some better food next

They?ve got to be positional interchangeable, I can?t see a full season of practice on one side of the goal.
