Phil Kirk said in his interview that there was room if more signings were needed.
By the bye, but the cap is the SCMP for L1 and L2 clubs - salary cost management protocol.

Is EFL's amortisation requirement straight line over the period of player contracts (ie 50% of fee paid after 1 year of a 2 year contract and so on? If so, presumably it would only apply to players bought after we became a L2 club? Would that be from 01.07.24 or another date? Presumably the stated amortisation policy of the Conference (which appeared to be 100% in year one, if I remember correctly) continues to apply to players who we bought prior to becoming a L2 club.

Whilst this might seem unimportant, I suspect that it may turn out to be very important.

Only just got around to listening to the Phil Kirk interview, might be the wrong analogy, but it seems like it was the 'perfect storm' situation. The Trust needed serious support, the club needed turning round, the fans needed something/someone to believe in,and the CFC supporting Kirk's wanted to get involved. The more I listen to them the more I feel it was meant to be,and the more I feel what a stroke of good luck and even better timing it has all been.COYB

Yep, I have a feeling that the relegation last season could be replicated this season too.

That would be lovely.

We havent spent much on fees since Kabby have we, so hardly an issue now.
I suppose there is the fee for Berry, if we have written that off in year one, that wouldn?t worry the EFL, they are more worried about clubs extending the write off period not shortening it.

I?ve a feeling Jones will be used sparingly this season but might occupy a seat on the bench with a view to bringing him on as and when we need to close games out.

That was the plan last season, until we started shipping goals like there's no tomorrow, then he had to come on to steady the ship. I've a feeling the same might happen, and if it does he'll still look the fittest man on the field, same as last season.

Depends are you treating a player and tangible or intangible ?

Being a few years younger than you, I can't remember all those who you went to matches with. I do remember some of the obvious names but it's a bit sad that none of them have visited you. Don't let it get to you, but instead focus on getting out of dee dah land and back to matches.

I know you have said before that Sam had a decent season at Rotherham, but I was looking at what Stoke fans thought of him at the end of his time. On the whole, they were scathing, poor attitude, waste of a wage, not sure how he could have ever been worth ?16M.

Wonder if our Staffordshire based posters know any more of his time that way?

The couple of Stoke fans I know and spoke to didn't have a lot to say about Clucas and certainly nothing really positive.

It certainly will be in a monetary way, but the club is on a slippery slope and I don't see them as favourites to get back to the EFL next season. If I had to work there I couldn't wait to hit the road home.
