There seems to be rule in Europe of minimal interference from VAR. in England the officials seem subservient to it.

My understanding is that both decisions were technology driven so it made no difference who the VAR team was. I think that's what the expert said. Might be wrong though.

The snickometer? There was a subjective element in both decisions and that was the crucial element otherwise it wouldn’t take ages to make a decision and the referee wouldn’t need to go to the screen to make the final call.

The woman expert on ITV specifically said the handball was not subjective. Hope I'm dead before these farces reach Whitt Moor.

Not sure if it?s been mentioned but IF we do progress today our next game is Sat 6th July with a 5pm KO meaning most who go to Matlock would miss some of the England game.

Perish the thought.
Before too long I can see a decision being taken to court by some rich club with money to burn. We should go back to the ref's decision is final without taking into account eighteen different camera views of the same incident which can be interpreted differently by anyone who sees them.

Do not worry about it.

The Matlock game will be more interesting and you will be able to watch any highlights, if any, of the England match afterwards

I detest VAR with a passion. The ball brushes a toe nail...offside. The ball bushes a finger nail.... penalty. But then we have players wrestling each other in the penalty area every corner.... nothing given. Its sucked all the enjoyment out the game and all the players and pundits discuss now at the end of every game is VAR decisions rather than the football. I for one am sick of it

Matlock is a 2pm KO, plenty of time for folk to get home/find a pub

I will bet, the Matlock match will have more endeavour, and it's only a niggle free friendly. I'd much rather support my home town team and give Matlock my cash than sit nibbling my fingernails down to my elbows while England pass the ball about at the speed of an arthritic sloth. I will not be rushing back either.

There?s a good sports bar near the ground in Matlock just over the bridge called Rabona. Straight out the ground into the bar
