The Sky News bench was at Owlerton dog track yesterday and the views confirmed what I?ve been saying for a while. Labour will win but there?s very little joy at the prospect of a Starmer government with one Labour voter saying they couldn?t stand him?

You have been saying Labour will win for a while. I think you started when the polls averaged +20. Your political nous has been so unbelievably bad over the last 4 years though and your prediction wobbled my confidence. Now Sky has interviewed a punter at a dog track, and he confirms your view, I?m going to lump on. I like Starmer though, he?s a ruthless winner.

I?ve got my finger on the political pulse of the area. I?m not tied down to any doctrine and that makes political dyed in the wool voters confused and frustrated. Perfectly highlighted by your highlighting of my posts after your brief hiatus. Welcome back, you?re much better in small doses.
BTW I?m definitely going to end up paying Ashate ?20 for my bet with the earl although the ?40 with you to the sane cause is still on a knife edge.

I too watched the piece in question.

Won't do a person by person breakdown but they were all Labour voters.

Well, apart from one saying he'll go 'Reform' (yeah, I know).

The constituency will be Labour at the election.

Folk will have to decide for themselves why the self admitted Labour hater you named chose to interpret things the way he did, in the same way they're fully aware of his history of 'backing the wrong dogs'...

Self admitted Labour hater? Surely not another falsehood like my repeated refusal to condem the Jan 6 riots. I?m still awaiting proof of that as well. You may have meant Starmer hater, not sure I hate him but I?m certainly no fan.
Folk will have to decide for themselves? I bet they really puzzle themselves over it!

Bright new future? They haven't announced many policies just wish lists but none of them point to anything remotely bright or new...

The next 12 to 18 months will see improvement as the impact of coming out of the Ukraine/ pandemic crisis eases... but after that.... let's see shall we, but maybe we can bookmark this page to see if the bright new future appears?

Watching the Starmer Sunak debate from last night.

Sunak: Starmer and Labour will tax you every which way. He can?t rule out raising your council tax. I?ll invite him to do so now

Starmer: let me address this directly. The PM warned the country about Truss and then said we must unite behind her and support her

Moderator: hold on, you know how it is to fall in line behind a leader of your party

Absolutely embarrassing. Really do not want to vote for this man, he is awful. ?Let me address this directly? and then immediately pivots to another argument, and gets made a fool and hypocrite of whilst doing so.

Given the state of Local Govt finances, I?d say a Council Tax revaluation and the introduction of new Bands is a shoe-in

But growth is the solution to labour's wish list and if you take money out of people's pockets through higher council tax bills, how does that play to the growth agenda? Can't see councils putting it into construction projects, it would just pay the interest on their debts...

Tax and spend... the normal labour approach.

I?m not saying I agree with it, I?m just saying Local Govt needs a bail out and if they?re not going to directly pump in money centrally, increase the local tax base and let them collect it locally. If I were them (which I?m not) this is what I?d do.

They also want to reform business rates, but won?t say how they?re going to do that either. I think it speaks to a plan to help Local Govt fix its woes while not increasing things like income tax.

He (Starmer) never addresses the question, he reverts to the last 14 yrs as an answer, and not about what he's going to do to resolve the problem in the future.

You only have to look at the Tory election date betting scandal to realise these filthy lot are not fit to serve this country, they will do anything to get a quick easy buck, for themselves, it?s obvious the idiot at the top opened his mouth and the cretins below hoovered up like vultures. They are finished as a party

Were you one of the ones who lumped on in the cup game when everyone except the bookies seemed to know Town were putting out a weakened team? Just wondered where your morals ended on inside info?

David Tennant the latest in the list of left wing luvvie bigots.
Wants people to have rights and freedoms but wishes Kemi Badenoch would just shut up and longed for a world where she didn?t exist anymore. Typical bigot bully behaviour.
Yep, plenty of those left wing bigots about, those who espouse tolerance are the least tolerant of others..
There’s no bigger bigot than a left wing bigot!..quite catchy that!

For the record, those shrieking loudest about Tennant's comments are exactly the same ones repeatedly demanding Lineker, Neville, Vorderman, Munchety and a catalogue of other media figures expressing compassionate views "shut up".

And of course at best said nothing, or at worst somehow defended the Hester wanting to 'shoot' a Dianne Abbott who 'made him hate all black women'.

The same racist whose millions continue funding the Tories election campaign...
