Nearly signed for Clay Cross when i was there a few years ago before going to Staveley cos they paid him. 99% sure he was being paid at Matlock but cant believe Grassmoor are in a position where they would pay anyone. They had a good season last season mainly due to the runs Chris Fletcher scored.

Bushy will probably be more qualified to tell us about Pembo than anyone else on here...

Was at Cutthorpe before moving to Matlock for more money.

Spoken to someone at Grassmoor who says he hasn't heard anything about Pembo signing.

They've signed Dean Hopkinson though.

Had a quick look on Facebook as i'm friends with him on there.....seems he turned out for Staveley last weekend in a friendly but suggests he isnt playing there this season and was just to get a game in before the season starts.

Yeah somebody mentioned he had played a friendly for Staveley.

Sure we will find out where everyone is in the next couple of weeks

Well the DCCL deadline for overseas and for domestic players to be available for this weekend passed just over an hour ago so anyone not signed by now is either staying where they are for now or not playing!

I just need to get through a bit of a fitness test at nets tonight to see if i can play this weekend....took a shoulder to my ribs from one of my team mates heading a corner clear playing football down in Kimberley last Sunday and still struggling a bit with it.

We only have Sunday league this weekend. 6 1st teamers have made themselves available so it should be a good run out before the season starts properly next weekend.

Sunday 2nds actually started last week and got a bit of play in before it lamped it down. This Saturday its just firsts at Allestree as the first weekend is always lost in favour of football at Ashover so the seconds game has been moved to a Sunday later in the season. Sunday 1sts & Sunday 2nds have games the day after as well, home to Grassmoor and away to Chesterfield respectively. From there on in the majority of weekends will see two games on each day over the weekend.

We have no saturday game this weekend, and no sunday game next weekend because of how the fixtures fall but after that its full weekends for a lot of the season.

They have in the past. They signed the local cricketing porno star from us and he went for a 'pay-rise' (we weren't charging him subs for some reason).

Things at Matlock must be grim - they'll pulled their seconds at the last minute. They had a thirds not so long back.

Local cricket in a bad way with Clay Cross, Staveley and Matlock all pulling teams for this season

Our seconds start this weekend, firsts the weekend after - we have a Sunday team now who also start at the weekend

Grassmoor should have a very good side, never understand why they remain in the Bassetlaw though

I have semi retired and will only play if needed to make up the numbers - so will probably end up playing most weeks!!!!!

Got Barbs away 2nd weekend I think, not sure if will be needed or will be able to go to the football

My plan too really. I'll be going to the football a week on Saturday for sure.

Proact > Walton Dam > Brampton Public Houses

Sounds like a plan to me

That's a great plan! It's fine arena, and very relaxed about bringing your own booze and smoking.

Matlock got d1cked at Elvaston, though Pembo was playing.

I watched our lot for a while - one of the lads smashed 136 but it wasn't enough, though if we'd not gifted them 10 overs we might have won it.

Looking down the scorecards Staveley have more of last year's team than I expected.

Why have they been allowed to pull the first team rather than the second team? I thought there was some rule about it. They'll walk that division.

The league let both Stainsby and Langley Mill do it years ago and precedence set. Quite a few clubs done it in recent times. Heard today that Matlock would have done it rather than their seconds if it wasn't for a certain contract that a player was on. ;)

That said if staveley are rolling out most of their first team from last season 3 or 4 divisions lower its taking the mick a little.

At least two of those who played yesterday I was told had gone elsewhere!

Why would his contract have made any difference?

One more Bullimore than i was told about...was told two of them had signed for a club Barnsley way but one of those played. Looking down the rest i reckon about 4 of them played first team last season but not sure what else they have to come in the next few games.

Only what i heard when i bumped into a dirty slogger ;) at the Dam yesterday afternoon but apparently Pembo is on a contract to get paid at Matlock and told them that if they folded the first team he still wanted to be paid in full for the remaining seasons he was signed for. I suspect paying him to play in 7 or 8 North wasnt part of the plan so they kept the first team in the higher division and folded their seconds.

Decent way to wrap up the innings....

Derbyshire CCC ‏@DerbyshireCCC 7m7 minutes ago
#STAT: via @MarkEklid - @LancsCCC lost their final four wickets for just a single in 23 balls. Bowled lads! #P2bD #DERvLAN
