Was he the lad from Altrincham?
Bit of a greedy show pony if i recall.
Think he scored from edge of box but I didn't like the cut of his jib.
Didn't seem a team player.
I'd give him a miss

Yep , seemed to be all about him. Another Kabby, avoid.
East stand second class citizen.

I’m going to give my two Penneth worth on who I think we need or who should stay

Keeper.. Boot , I’m a fan, think his footwork is absolute class, I’d bring in an older bench warmer who is happy to be No2

Defence Unfortunately great servant that he is Grimes should leave, he will have no problem finding a national league or div 1 club
Palmer, he has impressed me recently , have we played a decent side though, is he good enough with the ball at his feet, I’m not sure 50/50 on him
Sheckleford, not good enough for me not enough quality on the overload, we are desperate for a quality right back, we need a jack hunt type
Donacien , made of chocolate gets injured tieing his laces
McFadzean, I think he should get one year, local lad still got a bit of pace but reads game well, age wise it’s s no but he is a proper hard nut who will shrug off knocks and want to play the game
Gordon, decent player but is his quality good enough final third, squad player behind Spatkes who is a must signing as will provide assists

Midfield
Oldaker , leave , no pace passes sideways , mark allot passed sideways but he had a near 100% completion record never got caught in possession and never gave it away, I’d play Mandy as a holding midfielder

Mandeville, love Mandy great engine not a right back but should be in the middle of the park, not quiet enough zip to play in the front 4, gets goals and assists

Metcalfe, improved could go on to better than this league but no assists no goals this season so that for me is a huge negative, fill your side up with players who produce big numbers, no for me

Naylor, I think he has had a poor season, his legs may be starting to go but used a bit more sparingly he has class in abundance, gets goals and assists

Fleck, it’s easy to see he has class but we need the elasticity of youth in the engine room, no for me

Dobra, if I was cook I’d try to completely change him , his energy is off the charts, I’d play him as a holding midfielder and work tirelessly on distribution, I reckon he could get to next level playing a bit deeper , he gets sussed a bit further forward but he can turn on a sixpence snd his acceleration is ridiculous, get him on the ball more

So the holding midfielders would be Naylor, Mandy , dobra and another player to be brought in who gets or has got goals or assists, somebody big would be ideal

Colclough, unless he gets fit he is a goner, not fit enough imo , engine not good enough
Olakigbe, won four corners against flertwood but failed to get a cross in, can’t make out if he is good enough or not, on the fence with him
Duffy, impressed then fell off the radar, I wish we had not signed him to be honest, he isn’t that good

Madden , needs to get fitter but he has loads of ability plays the ten better than anyone’ as gets closer to the striker, hasn’t had chance or proved himself this year

Grigg , as everyone knows I just don’t think he fits the bill as the furthest forward player, I’d much rather have an eoin Doyle or a bigger focal point also his pace has gone down we can’t ever slip him in, as a sub next season fine but we need a 90 minute striker with a lot more pace

Players needed
Older keeper 2nd string
Right back essential
Holding midfielder with height with record of goals and assists at other club
Sparkes
One winger
One number ten
Bigger striker

Ps forgot banks, been a superb servant but his legs are not the quickest, goes with best wishes

Dobra as a holding mid is outrageous but apart from that, not bad.

Out of the players out of contract would only keep Boot, Banks, Palmer, Gordon, Fleck and McFadzean and would try and move on Naylor, Sheckleford and Madden, would give us alot of room for a proper rebuild of the squad next season

I think Madden will stay and if the injury curse has been lifted, will be like a new signing next season

Also with Naylor’s ability to fill in at the back, don’t think he’ll be going anywhere

Yep, I've certainly not given up on him unlike a few others. Naylor won't leave either - he'll be earning good money here and has a year left, he'd be silly to move. If his legs go we can still use him as a pure defensive mid rather than a box-to-box.

I know what you're getting at in terms of him being able to turn on a sixpence and run from deep but you're suggesting turning our top scorer into a centre mid so think I'd prefer to be inside the box on this occasion... much like Dobra

I’m going to scrap the word holding, he isn’t going to hold neither does naylor, holding is a terrible word , deep lying with the freedom to go forward is better an engine room player

"Holding" definitely applies to a lot of centre halfs!!

I thought Naylor looked more like his old self when he came on at the weekend. Certainly one of the most mobile of our ‘Dads Army’.

Just don’t run the legs off him , Naylor played week in week out he needs a bit more rest imo

Idea of Mandy as a holding midfielder had crossed my mind. He reads the game well, has time on the ball, looks for a pass good movement and can drive forward and tackle

I think it's true to say, that Liam Mandeville could just about play anywhere on the pitch. He's one of those who you couldn't just replace with one player alone, unless he's a clone. Players like Mandy don't come along often, but you have to know how to get the best from him, and Cook seems to know.

It's a thought I've had for a good while tbh. Dobra could be as good as morsy in that role. Has a low centre of gravity, loves a tackle and has the ability to roll away from advanced midfielders to break away at speed. Would we miss him further forward? Probably, but it's something I'd be interested in seeing in pre season
Here we go again!

Dobra is nowhere near the level of Morsy….should be played in an attacking role with freedom to roam…
